Tartu Välk 494 won its 12th championship title in the 2020/2021 season and was also able to defend its title for the third year in a row, previously only HK Tallinn Stars has been able to do so during 2005-2007.
Of the 16 games held in the regular season, Välk 494 was able to win 13 games, twice the team lost in overtime and once at regular time. Therefore, out of a maximum of 32 points, only 4 points were not earned.
In terms of players, Välk 494 did not leave many opportunities for others either, because the first four places in the points table belonged to Tartu players. The most points were scored by the forward Fedor Gusynin, who managed to score 17 goals in 16 games and gave 37 assists (total 54 points). Oleksii Voitsekhovskyi was in second place, with 19 goals and 25 assists (total 44 points). Estonian hockey legend Vassili Titarenko took the third place, collecting 21 goals and 20 assists (total 41 points). Unfortunately, Danil Galimullin, who had several injuries during the season, was fourth in the table this time, but still managed to score 13 goals and 19 assists (total 32 points) in just 9 games.
The hockey season will end with the Cup Games, which will start on April 3rd, when the first play-off game between Tartu Välk 494 and Narva PSK will take place at Astri Arena. The Cup Games have been shortened this year due to the difficult circumstances, and therefore the semi-finals will take place to one victory and the final to two victories. As a result, the Cup Winner of 2021 should be announced by the middle of April.
